With the graduation ceremonies at Clinton High School and many of the surrounding schools recently completed, it is fitting for you, the class of 2023, to begin thinking about YOUR senior year. You are now officially a senior and can start to do ALL THE SENIOR THINGS! So what about senior pictures? Is it too soon to schedule your senior session and how to you even go about doing that?
Begin the process early.
The best advice I can give you about senior pictures, is to begin the process early, as the sooner you begin, the more prepared you are. You will have more time to plan outfits, accessories, locations, hair styles, etc. You will have more time to find the right photographer. And you will have more time to book the perfect senior session date. Senior year is stressful enough, so being prepared when it comes to senior photos will help ease some of that burden.
Think about the time of year you want your photos taken.
How do you know what time of year is best? Living in Clinton, Fulton, Morrison and the surrounding areas, we reap the benefit of having all four seasons (yes, sometimes even all within the time frame of only a few days). So how do you know which season to choose?
Spring
Do you like flowers and tall grass? Prefer to stay out of the summer heat? Then spring is the season for you! Plan you session the spring of your junior year, and you have your senior portraits to enjoy all year long. Would spring of your senior year work? Although we have done a handful of sessions during the spring of senior year, we advise against that for one main reason. YOU WILL BE READY TO BE DONE WITH SENIOR THINGS BY THEN. You will be busy preparing for college life, applying for scholarships, and getting ready for life after high school. Spring of your junior year is a great time to get a head start on your senior year.
Summer
Summer is the perfect time to schedule your session if you are in many sports and activities. Then you are not trying to work around practice and games to fit in your senior pictures. It is also a great time for showing off your tan!!
Fall
Fall is a popular time for portraits, so if you want a fall session, be sure to schedule early. The obvious reason to book in the fall is ALL THE COLORS! But don't forget about cute fall sweaters and layers. Usually we are not dealing with as much heat and midwest humidity at this time either! So no sweating and no hair falling. If boots and scarves are your thing, then fall is definitely for you.
Winter
Although winter may not be the most popular time for senior photos, it can make for some fun, unique portraits. With winter comes the hats, gloves, and SNOW!! Winter is also a great time to book if you are planning to spend most of your session in the studio. We can get most of your photos done in the studio where it is warm then head outside for some winter fun.
